Dumbass Parent of the Day

If your baby spills her drink all over herself, just put the CLOTHES in the dryer, not the BABY!

Birthday Holiday

Friday, May 26th, 2006

I remember back when I had a paying job and they gave you a personal vacation day called a “Birthday Holiday” You were free to use it whenever you wanted but taking your Birthday off was the most common. My Birthday is this weekend so the wife gave me a day off! (Thank YOOOOOOOOOOOUU!!!!!!!) She took a vacation day from her job and headed out with Gavin to The Science Center. From the looks of the comment in the preceeding post it seems like they are doing alright without me.

I think she was getting a little annoyed with my “Helping” them get ready to leave this morning. I should have just counted by blessings and stayed away.

Dumbass Parent of the Day

If you’re a politician running on a “Family Values” platform with ads that talk about you being a devoted father, try not to fall over $7000 behind on your child support payments.

Hung Like a Dinosaur

Friday, May 12th, 2006

I was reading Gavin one of his dinosaur books and he said, “That’s a tail” I asked him if he has a tail and he says, “NO, I have a PENIS”

Paper Trained

Monday, May 8th, 2006

Gavin has another job around the house. His current duties are holding the mail on the way to the Post Office and showing the person at the Costco exit our receipt, but his newest is his most responsible yet. He has to go down the sidewalk and by the street and bring in the newspaper in the morning! He really enjoys doing it and laughs and smiles the whole time.

The biggest questions I will probably get from this post is “why do you still buy a newspaper, can’t you just read it on the internet for free?” Yes I can, but its a lot harder to read all the stories on the computer. With the paper I know that when I get to the last page I have read all the news for that day. Plus, a newspaper is a lot easier to bring into the bathroom or light the BBQ.

Still Kickin’

Friday, May 5th, 2006

Yes I’m still here, I just haven’t felt like writing much lately. Gavin turned two and its kinda pointless writing about every little thing he does now. Until he starts adding or reading most of the milestones are past and he’s just a little boy. I might have to make this a more general blog and talk about movies I’ve seen and websites I visit since there really isn’t enough new stuff going on in my life interesting enough for me to write about, much less anyone to read.

Gavin and I did go to Laumeier Sculpture Park the other day and I think it was the most fun he has had in a long time. He was able to run as far as he could in almost every direction, plus he had a lot of cool things to see and touch. If anyone is in the St. Louis area and is looking for a fun outdoor walking activity, I would highly recommend it.
