Finally, some hockey!

Saturday, December 11th, 2004

A few weeks ago Gavin and I stopped by River City Coffee & Tea during
our weekly walks down main street to get some more loose leaf tea and
the nice lady who owns the place gave us a pair of tickets to a River Otters Hockey game at the Family Arena.  I know its not the NHL, but since they aren’t playing any games this is the best I can do.

Tonight they are having a toy charity promotion where you bring a
stuffed animal and when the Otters score their first goal you toss the
animal onto the ice!  It should be a lot of fun.

I’m taking Gavin of course.  We both went to a Cardinals game a
while back and he seemed to enjoy looking around at all the people, but
now he wants to move around more and I’m not sure how he will take
sitting on my lap for a few hours.

I’l let you know how it goes and since its my first River Otters game,
I’ll let you know if its good enough hockey to go back again. (more…)

O’ Christmas Tree

Monday, December 6th, 2004

We decided not to put up the Christmas tree this year.  *Listens
for the collective “GASP” I’m sure was just released*  Our
thinking is that Gavin will just be getting into it every chance he
gets so it will turn into me pulling him out of the tree all day
long.  Not much fun for either of us…  Ok it would be fun
for him.

Those out there with kids around 8 to 20 months (have to plan for next
year), how do you protect the tree from active arms?  My parents
used a watergun to train their cats, but I don’t think it would work in
this situtation. (more…)
